Rum da Madeira Dourado (80-Proof)

This is the first Portuguese rum reviewed in “Got Rum?”. The rum has a nice burnt orange color and a rich, raw sugar and port wine aroma.

The body is thin and light, and once in the palate it opens up subtly and dry, and finishes with hints of caramel and spice. The finish is dry and dissipates quickly.

Enjoy this rum mixed with fruit juices or in rum punches.
