Bayou Rum Satsuma Cake
Created and baked by Denise Ardoin, fan of Bayou Satsuma Rum Liqueur
Cake Ingredients:
1 cup chopped pecans
4 eggs
1 – 18 oz. yellow cake mix
1/4 cup cold water
1 – 3 & 3/4 oz. package Jello Instant Vanilla pudding
1/2 cup Wesson Oil
1/2 cup Bayou Satsuma Rum Liqueur
Glaze Ingredients:
1/4 lb. butter (1 stick).
1/4 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup Bayou Satsuma Rum Liqueur
Cake Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour 10″ bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts over bottom of pan. Mix all cake ingredients together. Pour batter over nuts. Bake 1 hour. Cool. Invert observing plate. Prick holes in top, and sides. Drizzle glaze evenly over top and sides. Allow cake to absorb. Repeat until all glaze is used up.
Glaze Directions:
Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in rum.
Spiced Rum Cake
Cake Ingredients:
½ Cup Bayou Spiced Rum
1 Cup Chopped Pecans (optional)
1 Package Classic Yellow Cake Mix
1 (3 ¾ oz.) Package Vanilla Instant Pudding
4 Eggs
½ Cup Cold Water
½ Cup Vegetable Oil
Glaze Ingredients:
½ Cup Bayou Spiced Rum
1 Stick Butter
½ Cup Water
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
Cake Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 10- inch tube or 12-cup bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts over bottom of pan. Mix all cake ingredients together. Pour batter over nuts. Bake one hour. Cool; invert onto serving plate. Prick top with a skewer. Spoon and brush glaze evenly over top and sides.
Glaze Directions:
Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, and remove from heat. Stir in rum. Let rest for 5 minutes, then pour over bundt cake.
